Pawmetto Lifeline receives - almost daily inquiries from parents and grandparents about opportunities we may have for children who just love pets. Since we rescue and find forever homes for those kittens, cats, puppies, and dogs in our facility, surely there's something available for young people to interact with those furry friends.

YES!  Fur Friends day camp!!

Whether you have felines and/or canines at home or not, children ages 5 - 12 years old will have fun while learning about pet ownership combined with valuable lessons about the humane treatment of domestic animals.

To appreciate our domesticated furry friends, participants will learn the history of cats and dogs and how they have become the companions they are as we know them today. Aside from being our pals, canines have been utilized in some amazing roles as "working" animals, so they will learn about those jobs utilizing dogs. And felines will also receive attention during these sessions with various lessons which include cat behaviors and interactions. Fur Friends participants will spend time one-on-one with some of our adoptable pets to learn various aspects of pet ownership.

Sessions are segmented by ages 5 - 7, and 8 - 12 to effectively present lessons which engage their level of comprehension.
