Pet Food Pantry (Pet Soup)
Our Pet Food Pantry, Pet Soup, is an emergency resource to provide pet food to needy families in the Midlands so more families can keep their pets instead of adding to the homeless pet population.
Pet Soup is completely dependent on private donations, and we are very appreciative of monetary donations to help with administrative and transport costs, food donations, and volunteers. We accept donations of any brand of cat or dog food. If bags have been opened, please be sure they are taped securely shut. You may drop food off at Pawmetto Lifeline at 1275 Bower Parkway, Columbia, SC.
If you are interested in volunteering to help with Pet Soup, contact Magen Sier at 803-465-9187 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
To qualify for the Pet Soup program, all applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Currently receive public assistance (Medicaid, disability, food stamps, TANF benefits, unemployment)
- Have proper documentation that pets are spayed or neutered
Our goal is to reduce pet overpopulation here in the Midlands and by having your pet spayed or neutered you are helping us keep dogs and cats from being taken to a municipal shelter where they could face euthanasia. We offer discounted spay/neuter appointments at our clinic for Pet Soup clients who live in Lexington and Richland Counties.
Due to high demand and limited supply of pet food available, participants must be pre-approved before receiving assistance. Pet food will only be distributed to current approved Pet Soup clients. Please call Magen Sier at 803-465-9187 for more information on participating.
