"We recognized the need for the Wellness Program in our community and have researched and developed a comprehensive program to offer specific services to those in need," stated Denise Wilkinson, CEO of Pawmetto Lifeline. "We ask each potential client if they have sought out the service of a private veterinarian before we offer access to our program."We want to foster an environment of cooperation and inclusion with our local private veterinarians while also providing low-cost services to those who cannot afford to patronize a private clinic. We know those same people genuinely care and need medical services for their companion pet. We do not want companion pets being euthanized or surrendered to municipal shelters due to a treatable illness. If we can help keep the pet in their home with their family, we should see a decline with owner surrenders and euthanasias at our municipal shelters."
